Despite winter traditionally being a quieter period for Sydney's property market, with many buyers preferring holiday time off or going overseas, has been busy with regard to The Walden apartments in North Sydney.

Developer-builder ALAND reported more than $35 million worth of apartment sales in June alone, including $6.8 million worth of a single apartment, which has now become the highest apartment sales in North Sydney ever recorded.

Ben Stewart, SRM Residential agent, says that the sales are evidence of buyers' confidence in the market and a trend to buy homes not as an investment but with the intention of staying there for a long period of time.

"Right now, we're seeing demand coming from owner-occupier buyers who are looking beyond the current situation of the market," says Stewart.
