Over the past year, AviaGames (also known as Avia) has expanded its focus on community engagement through in-game campaigns tied to nonprofit partnerships. This work was recently featured by Women-Led Games, which interviewed Founder and CEO Vickie Chen about Avia’s origins, mobile game marketing challenges, and its recent charity initiatives.
The Vision Behind AviaGames
Vickie shared that early in her career she noticed many games were built for hardcore players. Wanting to create competitive games that are fun, fair, simple, and accessible, she co-founded Avia in 2016.
The company began in a small garage in Mountain View, California, and has since grown into a multi-title publisher. Today, more than 40% of Avia’s team members are women, including many in leadership roles.
Solitaire Clash and Community Growth
Vickie highlighted Solitaire Clash as a standout title, noting its strong performance and engaged community. The game has reached 60 million downloads and hosts approximately 450 million tournaments each month, consistently ranking highly in its category. She credited the active player base as a key driver behind Avia’s successful charity campaigns.
Mobile Gaming Challenges
Vickie explained that mobile gaming requires constant updates, live events, and close coordination between marketing and operations. Unlike PC or console releases, mobile titles must continuously adapt to fit into players’ daily routines.
Turning Gameplay Into Impact
In September 2025, during Avia’s 9th Anniversary, the company launched Play for Paws in partnership with Nevada SPCA. Every match played in Solitaire Clash and Bingo Tour contributed to donations without requiring extra steps from players.
The campaign generated over $220,000 in donations and 14,000 pounds of dog food. Avia also invited players to volunteer in person at the shelter, further strengthening its connection between gameplay and community support.
