Key Requirements of the Pet Dog

Age: minimum 8 weeks old & fully weaned

Weight: not more than 40 lbs (weight of the dog + carrier) 

Carrier Size: Not more than 18" L x 14" W x 9" H (where the Pet can stand, sit comfortably, and move freely)

Health: The dog must be healthy (ill or physically distressed dogs are not permitted)

In-Cabin: Dogs are allowed to be carried in-cabin and only if it fits under your seat.

  • International Flights: No pet Dogs (emotional support pets) are permitted to travel on the international flights of Spirit Airlines, except trained service dogs.
  • Flight Duration: The Pet should stay in the carrier for the whole flight duration.
