You opened your eyes amid a war – You may not hear the bombs going off or the smoke rising in the distance, but the battle is palpable. The war started long before you were born, from the very first sunrise in Eden, and will continue until the world’s final sunrise.

This is the account of the story of Yahweh's War on Sin, but it is not merely history. It is personal, revolving around the essence of your existence, your freedom, and what’s in store for your life.

In this battle, the adversary is not a corporeal battalion. The enemy goes by the name of sin, every act of selfishness, shattered vow, and darkness in humanity's heart. The champion? Yahweh Himself.

The Stakes No One Can Ignore

If this were solely about rules, we could rewrite them. Alternatively, if there were some mistakes, we could say sorry. However, sin is more than a bad habit. It is a chain around the soul.

The story of Yahweh's War on Sin is not fought from a safe, distant place. It is fought up close. The Creator himself, who breathed life into this world, decided to step into the dust and sweat of the warzone. This is not solely a story about wrath - it is also a story about mercy.

Just like each of us, our parish is part of this story. Every time we participate in Mass, either in church or through our live stream, we join that age-old struggle. The prayers, readings, and Eucharist all tell the story of the modernized reality of the War of Sin.

History takes shape through specific events.

Eden’s First Defeat

The campaign starts with a broken promise. A decision made in an immaculate garden grants access to death, grief, and shame.

The Long Campaign

His creation was never out of his vision, so He didn’t stop caring. He tried to construct a rescue mission through Noah, Abraham, and Moses.

● To Abraham, He promised that all nations would be blessed.

● To Moses, He spoke, through giving a law that revealed His holiness.

● Through prophets, He granted hope during despondency.

The wars were fought through faith, loyalty, and agreements just as much as with weaponry.

The Climax on a Hill

On a hill just outside of Jerusalem, the fight was at its dire peak, and the Son of God was present. He brought with him all weapons of sin. Betrayal, cruelty, mockery, and death, and instead of retaliating, bore it all. His sacrifice on the hill was not defeat, but the most powerful victory statement.

Each week, the Eucharist serves as an opportunity to relive and commemorate this victory. We also sustain this victory message through online giving, aiding our community and ministries that share the hope and the story of Yahweh's War on Sin to the upcoming generations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why call it a ‘war’ if mercy wins?

Because the victory of mercy is fought for, sin fights for its grip and victory, and love in response goes to the bitter end.

Where is mercy when the battle seems unrelenting?

Mercy is in the hands that prop you, in the voices interceding for you, and in the God who stays when you fall in so many ways.

How do I join the fight?

Begin small. Pray. Forgive. Aid your parish. Read Scripture. Every act of love is a blow against sin.
