Ayurveda, which traditionally praised milk as Satvic and Ojas-building, now advises caution because modern milk is processed, contaminated, and difficult to digest. This article explains why dairy consumption is declining and offers Ayurvedic alternatives suitable for today’s lifestyle.

Dairy Diet : Introduction

Ayurveda describes pure cow’s milk as cooling, strengthening, and rejuvenating. Ancient texts highlight its ability to nourish Ojas and support immunity. But modern dairy practices—pasteurization, storage, hormones, and chemicals—have changed its nature. The milk available today no longer resembles the fresh, Satvic milk described in classical Ayurveda. As a result, many individuals experience allergies, mucus, bloating, and toxin (Ama) formation after consuming dairy.
