What is the difference where to buy?
The idea of creating new means of moving a person over short distances, powered by electric accumulators, oddly enough,(Electric Scooter UK) visited the minds of inventors not so long ago. Small, convenient, unusual, and, most importantly, completely harmless to the environment, electric transport saw the light only at the beginning of the XXI century.
Today we would like to talk about the most interesting, in our opinion, copies of personal electric vehicles: a hoverboard, Segway, mini-Segway and electric unicycle.
Electric transport is becoming more and more part of our everyday life. The times have already passed when only trams/trolleybuses belonged to electric transport, the time has also passed when electric cars and even gas stations for them began to appear on various roads. E-scooters and e-bicycles are not new either. But such means as gyro scooters and mono-wheels are still a novelty today. A novelty that, a little later, will become as commonplace as, for example, a trolleybus.
Let’s take a closer look at such modern gadgets. Let’s start with a gyro scooter.
A hoverboard is a personal electric vehicle with a plank in the middle and 2 wheels with electric motors on the sides of this plank. Electric motors in wheels are powered by electric accumulators.
The hoverboards do not have a rudder, and is controlled by transferring body weight. Also, this electrical device in Russia is sometimes called: an electric scooter, a mini-Segway (although this is a little incorrect, we will analyse it later) a gyro board, a smart way, a smart Segway, and in England it is called a hoverboard. The difference between a hoverboard and a Segway is that the Segway usually has larger wheels, and the Segway has a steering wheel, and Segways are also usually quite heavy.
Giro scooters, on the other hand, are lightweight, small in size, so that, having arrived, for example, at your work, you can easily put it under the table, in a closet, on a shelf and not worry about your transport at all. Also, thanks to their compactness, hoverboards are convenient for moving among the crowd along pedestrian paths to bypass traffic jams.
Segway . The main difference between a Segway and a gyro scooter, as mentioned earlier, is the presence of a steering wheel. This design, as well as in the creation of gyro scooters, was based on the so-called gyroscopes. These are special sensors for balance. Several gyroscopes signal the electric motors to keep the unit in balance and also set it in motion when required.
The Segway’s inventor spent about ten years creating it. Structurally, it is a platform on two large wheels, with a rack in the front, on which the steering bar is located. The name of such a device comes from the word segue, which translates as a smooth transition from one state to another, and the word way, which translates as a path, a road.
The Segway, thanks to its large wheels, can easily overcome various obstacles, thanks to which it can be used, for example, in warehouses, in parks, on high-traffic streets, on embankments, as well as in other areas. Segways have proven to be in demand in many different countries. For example, in the USA, segways are used almost en masse. They are used by patrol officers and even postal workers. Not so long ago, modifications of super-passable segways began to appear, they can be used for driving almost all year round, they can be driven off-road or along sandy beaches.
Mini segway . Just like a gyro scooter, the mini segway self-balancing when turned on, but the mini segway is controlled using the knees. Turns on the mini-segway are “done” with your knees, and driving forward or backward is done by tilting the device.
Those people who previously rode only on gyro scooters, when they changed to the mini segway, said that it was much easier to ride, as well as control the mini segway, because there is a “steering wheel” sandwiched between the knees. Before a person drives, it is imperative to adjust the mini segway to the person’s height so that the “steering wheel” is clamped between the knees, and not at any other level.
A monowheel is one wheel with a motor that you can ride. (In other words – a gyro cycle, unicycle) A unicycle is an electric self-balancing scooter with one wheel and special footrests located on both sides of the wheel.
In practice, a monowheel is the same gyro scooter, with only one wheel. However, learning to ride it is not so easy. It can take from two weeks to two months from buying a device in a store to free riding on the streets, it all depends on your level of physical fitness. The main thing in this case is patience, as well as good protection.
Monowheels wonderfully overcome urban paving stones, curbs, and also cope with the forest landscape. The unicycle can be driven not only on a perfectly flat road, it is suitable for driving both on a dirt road and on grass. On a monowheel, you can ride on an incline both down and up. Depending on the model of the monowheel, the angle of inclination of the road that this device can handle can reach 30 °. The device is arranged simply nowhere. There is a wheel inside the body, and outside a carrying handle and folding footrests. The electric motor and sensors are located inside the wheel itself. The battery and electronics are housed in the housing. The body itself is made of durable plastic. On a monowheel, as well as in gyro scooters, control is carried out by moving the center of gravity. When stopping, you must lean on your foot.
Scientific progress does not standstill. Environmentally friendly, new, modern, promising means of transportation: a gyro scooter, segways, and a monowheel – this is a personal electric vehicle that is becoming fashionable and widespread . All these electrical devices have their own advantages and are becoming more and more popular in Russia every day.
