What Is the Affordable Connectivity Program?
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was established through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) It was to assist families with low incomes to stay online.

Who’s eligible?
The person who is the sole member of your household must satisfy certain criteria to be eligible for an internet subsidy under the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Eligibility for the Affordable Connectivity Program
You may be eligible to be eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program if at the very least the one member of your household meets the following conditions:

It is important to know: Lifeline requires an income of at least 135% less than federal poverty guidelines; however, the ACP is based on the following criteria:
- Your income is not more than 200% than the federal guidelines for poverty

- You or someone else in the household (including kids and dependents) participate within one of the Federal programs. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly called Food Stamps), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) or Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit

- You reside on Tribal territories, and at the very least, one member of your family (including kids and their dependents) is part of Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance Head Start. (Only when your household complies with the income-related standard), Tribal Temporary Assistance for the Neediest Families (Tribal the TANF) or The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.
What is the process to apply to Lifeline? Lifeline program?
To apply to be eligible for Lifeline to apply, complete an application online via the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) or mail one too. After being approved for Lifeline, the service provider must enroll you into the Benefits program.
Furthermore, if your Internet service provider (ISP) is part of Lifeline, they may offer options to apply through their network.
What is Lifeline?
Lifeline is a government aid program that allows eligible households up to $9.25 on their daily internet or phone bill. A Tribal Lifeline program gets eligible households up to $34.25 off their monthly internet or phone bill.
What are the benefits that this program offers?
The Affordable Connectivity Program can provide 30 percent of the monthly internet bill, or $75 for people living on Tribal territories. The subsidy can be applied to any plan you choose, provided that your internet provider is a participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Did you sign up for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?
If you’re already in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, you’ll receive the $50 monthly payment for your internet service through March 2022.
In March, you can expect to reduce your subsidy to $30 per month.
In addition, eligible households may also get up to $100 off a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet bought via their internet service. You must, however, purchase at least $10 to $50 for the gadget to qualify for the discount.
It’s important to know that the $35, $75, or $100 subsidy isn’t paid to you directly. Instead, they’re paid to your internet provider, who can then lower your monthly service or the gadget you’re buying. Also, when your internet service costs less than $30, or $75 per month, you will not be able to claim the additional cash.
Furthermore, each household eligible receives a single monthly discount for their internet service, with only one discount per device.
What is the length of time the benefits continue to accrue?
There is currently no expiration date in this Affordable Connectivity program. We believe that when it continues to receive funds, the subsidy will be in place.
