WHAT IS MINIRIN 0.2MG?
MINIRIN 0.2MG contains desmopressin which belongs to the group of medicines called synthetic antidiuretic peptide. It is used to treat diabetes insipidus (a condition with extreme thirst and continuous production of large volumes of dilute urine). It can also be used to treat primary nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting from the age of 5) and nocturia in adults up to 65 years (night-time urine production exceeding bladder capacity).
Desmopressin works by reducing the amount of water that is eliminated in the urine. It enhances the reabsorption of water in the kidneys. Avoid drinking large amounts of water or fluid during this medication that leads to a build-up of water resulting in dilution of the salt in the body and may cause a serious problems or convulsions.
The most common side effect of taking this medicine are headache, stomach pain swelling of ankles. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhea or systemic infections. There is an increased risk of pre-eclampsia during this medication, so inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. MINIRIN 0.2MG should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.

HOW MINIRIN 0.2MG WORKS
Desmopressin mimics the action of endogenous anti-diuretic hormone. After administration, desmopressin works by reducing the amount of water that is eliminated in the urine. It enhances the reabsorption of water in the kidneys.
