Wellness Coaching Services at MHN
With the current state of our health care system and the increasing cost, it is more important than ever to take responsibility for your health including proper nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management. A wellness coach can provide the guidance and support you need to achieve your personal goals.
During the first meeting, your coach will help you identify areas of your life that you would like to improve. These could include managing money, improving sleep habits, developing a healthy relationship with food, reducing stress, smoking cessation, and more. Your wellness coach will also help you develop strategies to implement change in these areas.
Wellness coaching combines insights from psychological theories concerned with motivation and behaviour changes. This may include motivational interviewing, self-determination theory, positive psychology and theories of emotional intelligence.
In addition to helping you set and achieve goals, your coach will provide ongoing support and encouragement along the way. They will meet with you as often as needed, and will be available to help you navigate any challenges that you may face.
The coaches at MHN have completed a rigorous training program and are certified as Wellness Coaches. The coaches work with individuals, couples and families to help them reach their health and fitness goals in a holistic manner that considers the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of one’s well-being.
A wellness coach can help you navigate the many health and fitness tools that are available, such as nutritionists, trainers, and apps. They can also help you set realistic expectations for your level of health and fitness. A wellness coach will not push you to engage in activities you are not comfortable with, and they can offer you suggestions for finding an activity that is a good fit for your individual preferences and abilities.
As you implement the changes that are suggested, your coach will help keep you accountable by establishing short-term goals and weekly meetings. These will give you an opportunity to celebrate successes, troubleshoot any obstacles that arise, and to adjust your plan as needed.

MHN’s wellness coaches can help you develop an actionable plan to achieve your goals and help you stay on track to create long-lasting change. They can also link you to a variety of resources, such as a registered dietician or discounted gym membership.
