The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
In The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a prequel to the 1982 film, three Gelflings find out the secret behind Skeksis’ power and embark on a journey to save the world. It is a sweeping fantasy adventure, with beautiful puppet designs and a stunning cast. The voice of Gelfling Deet is provided by Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel.
The story begins when the Resistance has won the first battle but it is destined to lose. In the following episodes, the Resistance is reunited, and Jen is sent to heal the Dark Crystal. Meanwhile, the skekUng, skekGra and skekLach are summoned to the castle. The trio is reunited with the Gelfling clans, who help the Resistance. As the two sides face a final battle, the Resistance regains the upper hand.
The Skeksis have ruled Thra for nearly 1,000 trine, but are slowly losing control of the world. Their empire is benevolent to the Gelflings, but their population is dwindling. However, the Gelfling race survives during the light era, and Skeksis have only recently discovered the power of the Crystal.
The storyline is based on a popular fantasy novel. Rian’s fate is determined by the fate of his mother, but the fate of the Gelflings is not yet determined. The Skeksis also have their own agenda, and in season one, they seek to gain control of the Crystal. In addition to being powerful beings, the Gelflings are the victims of various evil acts.
