Wall Mirrors Are Just What You Want
A few days ago, I received an email from one of my e-letter members. Her name is Karen. She wrote to me asking for information about wall mirrors. In her letter, she asked me to give her an idea of what her options are for different types of full length wall mirror.
She was interested in what is available in wall mirrors as far as mirror theme, style, framing, frame color, frame material, frame finish, framelessness, shape, orientation, and any other information that would help her in her search for multiple wall mirrors in her home.
So I broke down each of the wall mirror topics she wrote about in her email and provided information about each one. This way she would have a good knowledge of wall mirrors in general.
I started with the “Wall Mirror Theme.” When it comes to the theme of a wall mirror, you have a choice of Floral, Nautical, Tropical and Exotic. If you go online and browse the mirror specialty stores, you will find good examples of these themed wall mirrors.
The next item on the list is “style”. Here, it has a wide variety to choose from. Your choices of wall mirror styles are commercial, oriental, transitional, fantasy, modern/contemporary, traditional, ornate/gothic, Venetian, casual, missionary, artisan, shaker, children’s, tropical and exotic. If she wants to dig deeper, I’m sure she could find several other styles of wall mirrors to choose from, but the examples I’ve given for the styles will give her a good idea of what’s available.
So, now we take a look at what is available in framed wall mirrors. Here, I’m going to go over the types of materials that wall mirror frames are made of. After the frame materials, I will go over the frame colors that are most popular.
Framed wall mirrors are constructed with several different materials. These materials include glass frame, resin frame, wood frame, metal frame, wrought iron frame, mosaic frame, pressed paper frame, wood/metal combination frame, synthetic frame and leather/faux leather frame. Now she has a good idea of what the wall mirror frames are constructed of.
Now I will go over the full length wall mirror. There is a wide range of colors to choose from like cherry, silver, oak, gold, mahogany, pewter, bronze, copper, nickel, black, white, light wood, medium wood, dark wood, multi-color and if that wasn’t enough, you can also get wall mirror frames in custom colors.
Frameless wall mirrors are also available. Sometimes the perfect finishing touch to the room is a frameless wall mirror.
Next, let’s explore the different shapes of wall mirrors. The shape of a wall mirror is extremely important when it comes to the style or theme of a room. You need to look at the overall mood of the room, from the furniture to the curtains, from the paint color to the light fixtures, and then determine the shape of the wall mirror that will complement the room.
Most of the time, wall mirrors come in oval, rectangular, round, arched or crowned, square, sunburst, octagonal or heart-shaped shapes. If you go online to a mirror specialty store, you can find wall mirrors in just about any shape imaginable.
While the majority of wall mirrors are for residential use, you will also find wall mirrors for commercial use. Other features available for wall mirrors include ADA compliance, beveled glass/frame, environmental friendliness, fog-free, magnification, tilt, hooks, lighting, shelves/drawers, stemware storage and artwork.
Of course, the sizes of these wall mirrors range from small to very large and everything in between.
A few days later, after I sent all this information to Karen, she sent me another email thanking me for all the information about the wall mirrors I sent her. She told me that now she knew exactly what to look for when choosing a new wall mirror.
It’s not hard to choose the perfect wall mirror for the room. All you need to know is what your options are. Keeping in mind the theme of the room, you will be able to add an artistic reflection of your good taste.
