- Karnataka: Another key player in India’s grape production, Karnataka, boasts the Bijapur and Bagalkot districts as its primary grape-growing regions. In 2021-22, it contributed 24.49% of the total production, with over 854 thousand MT of grapes.
- Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu ranks as India’s third-largest grape-producing state, producing approximately 50 thousand MT of grapes in 2021-22, making up 1.43% of the national total. Grape cultivation is prominent in the districts of Theni and Coimbatore, catering to both domestic and international markets.
- Andhra Pradesh: With a production of 46.82 thousand MT of grapes, Andhra Pradesh contributes 1.34% to the country’s grape production. The Anantapur and Chittoor districts have emerged as significant grape-producing hubs, supported by government initiatives promoting grape cultivation.
- Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh, known for its agricultural diversity, is making its mark in grape production. It contributed 1.02% to the national production, with 35.45 thousand MT of grapes in 2021-22. - Mizoram: Surprisingly, Mizoram in the northeastern part of India is gaining recognition in grape production. It accounted for 0.5% of the total grape production in 2021-22, producing 17.3 thousand MT. - Haryana: Haryana, with its favourable climatic conditions and soil quality, is making strides in grape farming, producing 0.01% of the total grapes in India in 2021-22.
