It is best not to eat anything at all for at least a few hours before taking the psychedelic. This ensures that your body is clean and can better absorb the psilocybin. It can also prevent nausea or upset stomach.
During the whole period, drink plenty of water! This prevents dehydration and headaches the next day.
A few hours after the start of the trip, and certainly after, it is good to eat healthy and tasty food. Fresh fruits, such as oranges, mangoes, apples, and grapes, are favorites. Nuts, seeds and dried fruits are also recommended, as is dark chocolate.
