Tips for Choosing a Suitable Party Dress
Finding the perfect party dress is not an easy task. Here is our guide to choosing the right dress for the occasion and your body type.
The law of colors choose a color that suits your skin tone:
– Dark skin: you can easily dare to wear the lightest shades of the spectrum: white, yellow, green and pink will suit you. Brown and black will make you disappear in the background.
– Medium skin: Go for neutral shades like browns, grays and blacks, which strike your skin tone and look stylish. You can also try blues and reds. Warm tones that go well with your coloring.
– Fair skin: avoid yellow and white, which do not highlight porcelain skin. If you have black hair, red and green will look gorgeous. Otherwise, choose bold colors that look striking on your skin, and neutrals that look classy and refined.
The shape of your body
– Big Boobs? Opt for low-cut dresses with a square neckline. If you opt for a dress with straps, a wider strap will provide more support, while a thinner strap minimizes your bust.
– Small Boobs? A plunging neckline works surprisingly well with small breasts, and spaghetti straps are delicate and gorgeous. High collars work surprisingly well, as do long sleeves.
– A little belly? Satin and silk are out because they show bumps and bumps. Instead, go for flared or empire dresses. Something fitted to the waist is OKif you have magic panties and even give you a size! Try a wide belt to provide yourself with more shape.
– No size? Go for a straight cut with small spaghetti straps to draw attention to the curves of your bust. Empire lines suit you perfectly and the length(think floor-length) will make you glamorous.
– Big hips? Straight cuts or empire line dresses in one shade will flatter your behind. Also, avoid fingerprints, especially on your lower half – they will only draw attention to your behind.
– Pert or round ass? Dresses with a low-cut back round the back. Instead, try a dress with a train or a bodycon to get the most out of your pretty round butt.
– No tramp? Try on a fishtail dress for shape and definition. A flared or mesh petticoat can also give you an excellent shape.
TO AVOID!!!
– Calf Lengths: Dresses and skirts that end at the calf instantly add ten years to your age and cut your legs at their fullest end. Not beautiful … never!
– Short, strapless, tight and open back: all brilliant alone or even two but all four in one? No-no-no.
– Mesh skirts: If you are eight years old (Funny), go for it. If you are into wine, go for it. If you’re not, probably try to avoid this Disney princess look.
Some useful tips:
If you are unsure of the dress code, try to decide if the event is semi-formal or formal.
If the event is a party or a (semi-formal) celebration, a cocktail dress is an elegant and easy to dress up option. Wear with heels and a clutch to suit the dress code. If you’re worried about being over-styled which is common, go for flat sandals and loose hair to give the dress a simple finishing touch.
You can always wear a headband to pull your hair up into a bun to add a quick formal touch if you want to look dressier in an instant. Likewise, having bold lipstick in your bag can help you quickly change the tone of your dress/outfit.
If the dress code is strictly formal, choose a classic dress pattern if you are worried about choosing the wrong dress style. For example, a dress with a sweetheart neckline or a mermaid style is both beautiful formal dress styles. These styles will fit into any dance, ball or formal event.
Personal Style
Remember that an essential part of choosing the perfect dress is expressing your style. Dress to feel like you and your confidence will shine on the big night. While formal events can have a strict dress code, there is still plenty of room for self-expression in a traditional setting.
You can also reflect your style through makeup, accessories and hair. Then add a personalized touch that reflects the colors and styles you like. The key to finding a perfect dress is choosing what makes you feel like the best version of yourself. So while you might have to adhere to a dress code, there are still many ways to customize any look.
