Tiler washer boy ? What do I need one for?
Tilers across the country to be repeated. For many years, the standard grout cleaning tool Fliesenleger has been the simple combination of bucket and sponge.
However, in the face of ever-increasing jobs, the modern professional tiler shouldn’t be without the tiler’s best friend – a loyal scrubber’s boy .
Washboys have revolutionized grouting . By using a Washboy you can increase your grouting speed and achieve the perfect finish time and time again. Not only that, but you don’t have to get your hands wet and dirty either!
A basic Washboy set consists of a plastic tray, two castors, a waste water separator/decanter grid, a plastic float with a sponge and a rubber trowel.
Too expensive?
If washboys save money, it won’t be long before the washboy has more than paid for himself.
How do I use a Washboy ?
A washboy is a very effective tool that is very easy to use.
- Apply the grout as usual.
- Fill the Washboy with water to 20-30mm above the divider/decanter grid and dip the sponge into the water
- Slide the sponge horizontally across the rollers to remove excess water.
- Even out the gaps with the sponge in a circular motion.
- Rub the sponge along the separating/decanting grid to remove excess grout and the grout will fall and settle to the bottom under the separating/decanting grid. This keeps clean water over the grid to clean your sponge inside.
- Clean your sponge and repeat step three.
- Sweep the sponge across the tiles and then clean the sponge and repeat from step three until the surface is clean.
