What it lacks in intense, unstoppable action, it makes up for in style points. Style points for days. Style points are the fuel of this film, and they set us up for a very long journey. Isn’t that classy? I think I’m exaggerating. Go and explore the ocean of entertainment on themoviesflix for free.
The best asset of the film
Tom Hardy stars as Max in a two-hour chase through the post-apocalyptic orange Australian desert, alongside Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hult, and a host of sexy women. And really, that style is the film’s best asset. The film was nominated for every Oscar except for Best Actor, Best Screenplay, and Best Soundtrack. And the fact that it got a 6 out of 10 score speaks volumes. I didn’t pay much attention to the film’s score, but I didn’t find the film particularly good or bad.
The main characters are that they lack acting skills
The acting is by no means Oscar-worthy, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. However, it was the script that hurt the film. At least comparatively speaking. Being a massive action movie, I guess they didn’t try too hard on those fronts, so it doesn’t matter much, but it’s worth mentioning. All I can say about the main characters is that their acting skills are lacking. Nicholas Hoult’s performance was very good. He was unexpected, funny, and engaging, as Holt’s characters always are.
The only character who survived that time
However, in the end, his writing was less interesting. The only character who lasted until the end of the third act without losing interest was Max himself. Mainly because he had never experienced such drama before. Tom Hardy did a great job in the action part, but there was no chance to try anything else. Cerrone with his stoic one-armed wife was a good emotional lead, but not much else. After all, this is an action movie, focused on action, and I enjoyed it more than I should.
Style tips that were clear everywhere
Also, the writing of the dramatic plot was a bit sloppy. I didn’t mind the overly dramatic and serious side, it suited the tone and reputation of the film, but at the same time, it didn’t make me take the film seriously. I wasn’t interested in the lives of the characters and the success of their efforts. And to be honest, that bothered me a bit. I could appreciate the points of style that were evident throughout, but style can only do so much. But this film made me realize how far style can go because this film set a new standard.
As battles escalate, they become more boring
This Barrel of Fire has everything you need for a great, gripping action film: an hour and a half of action with only two intermissions so you can watch it without breaking a sweat. This is not a Michael Bay or Zack Snyder movie, where the fights get more and more boring as they go on. Director George Miller and Road to Rage know how to weave the plot and action together to keep the pace high and the changes without slowing down.
Action is offered always and continuously
In this regard, the writing is impressive. The best quality, however, is the visuals. The special effects, visual effects, and the way the action is presented are always and consistently amazingly bright and clear, looking fantastic and very impressive.
The cinematography is very crisp
The cinematography is very crisp, you always know what’s going on and you never get distracted by the fast pace. The colors are excellent, and the world is as clear as sand. The movie just needs an excuse and a way to go
The stunts, every move, and every stunt are so unique that I laughed out loud several times while enjoying the madness on screen. The movie just needs an excuse to move and a way to remember it.
