However, in the end, his writing was less interesting. The only character who lasted until the end of the third act without losing interest was Max himself. Mainly because he had never experienced such drama before. Tom Hardy did a great job in the action part, but there was no chance to try anything else. Cerrone with his stoic one-armed wife was a good emotional lead, but not much else. After all, this is an action movie, focused on action, and I enjoyed it more than I should.

Also, the writing of the dramatic plot was a bit sloppy. I didn’t mind the overly dramatic and serious side, it suited the tone and reputation of the film, but at the same time, it didn’t make me take the film seriously. I wasn’t interested in the lives of the characters and the success of their efforts. And to be honest, that bothered me a bit. I could appreciate the points of style that were evident throughout, but style can only do so much. But this film made me realize how far style can go because this film set a new standard.
