There are different kinds of trees that you can find while you hike in the misty forest areas, as cedar trees are among the Pacific Northwest’s most visible trees. The western red cedar prefers its shady, cool, and moist habitats as they are also known as the red cedar, giant cedar, and Pacific red cedar. You can find them growing thickest along the streams across the river beds, bogs as well as wetlands as they are growing with the mixed kind of conifers that are around them.

Port Orford Cedar
