The Purpose of the Islamic Phrase ‘Alhamdulillah’
Alhamdulillah is an Islamic phrase in the Arabic language which means “Praise be to Allah” or “Thank Allah”. Alhamdulillah is used to show gratitude and appreciation to Lord. Alhamdulillah carries two parts it is two things. One part of it is that you Thank Allah and the second part of it is an appreciation for Allah. When we say Alhamdulillah, then we are saying that praising Allah for whatever He is doing is great, it could not be better it is perfect.
The first verses of the Quran and the first chapter of the Quran start with Alhamdulillah which signifies its impact and importance. Muslims use this phrase quite often whenever they hear anything good. It is prescribed to say Alhamdulillah after every little and big blessing, be its good health, relations, water, food, comfort, new clothes, house, car everything is Allah’s blessing. We must praise Him for bestowing us with everything we have and thank Him heartily for showering His blessings upon us.
