The intention of this document is to set out the core content and learning objectives of the Pakistan National Curriculum for English.
The Ministry of Education in Pakistan has a vested interest in specifying a National Curriculum for schools, which is inclusive and designed to be aligned to the needs of Pakistan’s children.
Pakistani educators have been working on a National Curriculum Framework (NCF), which is an informative document that was approved by the Government of Pakistan in 2011. The NCF comprises four major areas: (i) teaching and learning; (ii) knowledge; (iii) assessments; and (iv) learning outcomes. The Single National Curriculum (SNC) is a set of standards and guidelines aimed at improving the quality and consistency of education in Pakistan.
