The Best Car Movies Ever Made
We all love movies, no matter how old or new or whatever we all love movies. Because movies on skymovieshd are fun it gives us a good story. Now there are a lot of car movies made, but which movie car is the best? We will judge car movies based on movie cars, car scenes, and races.
10. Hot Rod Girl (1956)
I’m not sure if this movie was meant to be a hot anti movie or not. The conspiracy is not very strong, my brother is dying, the city wants to stop fighting and the children still want to run. Since this is 1956 there should be a chicken game right (it was a 50’s Hollywood rule). In the movie there are a few 32 Ford (actually 32 more Fords), a 56 Chevy, a 56 Ford, a 55 T-bird, and an Olds 88.
9. Death Proof (2007)
The first part of the film may seem boring, talkative and with a lot of girls drinking at a bar (not even a wild bar party, just a group of three girls drinking) but then well, with 71 Chevy Nova used as a weapon and later to chase a car with a 69 Charger and a 70 Vanishing Point Challenger. The film is intended to sound like the 70th Slasher film against Vanishing Point. If you are a Mopar person check this out!
8. Road Racers (1994)
This film is called Road Racers but it is only one short race in the movie and 2 Car Chases. The film opens with a chase A car between 56 Chevy chased by police 56 Buick all to the badass song Rockabilly! There’s intense violence (not Grease greaser violence but like Outsider with a humor twist of the 90s), there’s some great Rockabilly music from Glen Glenn, Hasil Adkins, and Johnny Reno!
7. Thunder Road (1958)
Let me tell you a story, I can tell you the whole story … Actually let Robert Mitchum tell you a story he can do better. The film Mitchum starring is about Running Moonshine in Tennessee in the 50s and tries not to be caught off guard. It has lots of cars chasing a 50 Ford Coupe, a 57 Ford Fairlane, a 56 Chevy underground car that can rip car bumper bumps, and a song about a movie played by Mitchum himself!
6. Confused and Confused (1993)
I have long been amazed and confused it’s not true! Sadly that song is not in this movie (it should have been Jimmy Paige was his but Plant was not). The movie is similar to the 70’s version of American Graffiti except that the first summer night is not the last and the main character enters high school. Still chasing cars between 64 Buick and 72 Chevy Truck, there are 70 Chevelle SS 454, 70 GTO Judge, Ford Maverick, 37 Oldsmobile, and 74 Trans Am!
5. Tales of the Crypt: King of the Road (1992)
OK, I lie this is not a movie; an episode of the intriguing HBO’s Tales of the Crypt series. Why is this movie listed? WHY DON’T IT HAVE A LIST? As soon as the episode opens we are greeted by the 69 Chevelle SS yellow road race with a 69 Red Dodge Charger in Warren Zevon’s moving song. Later we get to chase a car with a Chevelle SS and a police car and finally a street race with a Chevelle SS vs. 57 Chevy Gasser! There is a wonderful song by Warren Zevon, yet only one song “Roll with the Punches” released another “Bad Road, Wretched Road” is only available as a cover for the band called Rebel Son.
4. Hot Rod (1979)
This movie is hard to find, made for TV made since 1979. It probably has more drag racing scenes than any movie I’ve ever seen! The movie on skymovieshd com has a street race between 65 Hemi Plymouth and 69 Olds Cutlass at first, later hemi 41 Willys Coupe Gasser, a few funny cars, and rocket-powered Funny Car and tons of Drag Racing scenes in this movie!
3. Vanishing Point (1971)
Kowalski is a delivery driver who brought the 1970 White Dodge Challenger from Colorado to San Francisco. You do it fast all the time and you create to chase the biggest cars in the world! Chasing the police all the time!
2. Two-Lane Blacktop (1971)
Who needs sites? This movie does not! All we need is a Driver, Mechanic, Girl, GTO guy, 55 Chevy gasser, and a few random walkers to make a fun car movie! This movie is about cars and nothing else! You can see and hear the beautiful 55 Chevy at almost every scene and GTO. The movie opens with a drag race and ends with another!
1. American Graffiti (1973)
Was this really amazing for any of you? Nothing but classic cars, sailing, fun music, jokes, a few races, and lots of fun! We get 32 beautiful but yellow Ford powered by 327, 58 Chevy Bel Air also powered by 327, a girl on a 56 T-bird, and a Black 55 Chevy (actually the same from the Two-Lane Blacktop ). This film is really about cars, not growth. The movie ends with a big feud between 32 Ford and 55 Chevy!
