What fun I had speaking with Stephanie Christopher on The Executive Connection (TEC)s TEC Live Podcast about the need to shift our paradigms when it comes to attracting andย retaining talent.
Stephanie nailed it when she said, โThereโs a common theme here, isnโt there? Itโs the manager.โ
It is indeed โ for both talent attraction and retention purposes. Yet getting managers to recognize this and ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ, ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ is a challenge.
Once they do, implementing the changes they need to implement is easy. Iโve made it my mission to make things practical and simple. We have models, processes, scripts and loads of other support systems to accomplish these changes.
But the first step is always, always, always the recognition and buy-in on the part of leadership.
