Take No Thought for Tomorrow
In the Bible, Jesus tells us to take no thought for tomorrow; that the Kingdom of Heaven reaches hand. He emphasizes living in today’s moment, in the eternal Now. He gives us the important thing to peace and eternal life. They’re the Heralds of Eternity!
God is pure love, and God desires to reveal pure love by which everything is shared. “In the holy instant God is remembered, and the language of communication with all your brothers is remembered with Him.” (T-15.VI.8) In the holy instant, we remember God. a course in miracles podcast There is no concealment, and you will find no private thoughts, no worries or concerns for future years, or regrets about the past. It is an event of perfect peace. This is exactly what Jesus is calling us into.
We’re asked to forget about our ideas about time. We might have thought that something was missing before, and we took action to try and correct it, longing for a better future. But Jesus is saying, “Don’t a cure for a better future. The long run is a trick! Now is all there is.”
And so we are now asking ourselves the question, what’s it exactly about? What is the purpose for this world and for my relationships? What is the point of time and space? Jesus tells us that today’s moment could be the point. Our vocation of healing (of the mind) could be the point.
How Practical Is This?
Jesus and the Holy Spirit have an agenda for every and everyone of us. It is very precise, and it’s individualized. In each moment, they instruct us where to go, how to proceed, and who to be with. They instruct us what books to read, what movies to view, what to consume, and what to not eat. We receive instructions on how best to get our daily bread, in terms of inspiration and also food, clothing, shelter. The Spirit is really practical. Once we give our mind to living and experiencing the holy instant, the Holy Spirit provides everything we need in Earth terms.
When you will find plans to be manufactured, we are told of them. “You need take thought for nothing, careless of everything except the only purpose that you would fulfill.” (T-20.IV.8) In lesson 135, he tells us:
“A healed mind doesn’t plan. It carries out the plans so it receives through listening to wisdom that is not its own. It waits until it has been taught what should be performed, and then proceeds to accomplish it. It doesn’t depend upon itself for anything except its adequacy to fulfill the plans assigned to it. It is secure in certainty that obstacles can not impede its progress to accomplishment of any goal that serves the higher plan established for the nice of everyone.” (W-pI.135.11)
