Stripper by Night poker online
One of my favourite poker online blogs is written by Decker, and it seems our fortunes ran together once again last month.
He did not give a total won/loss, but I disgustedly added up my balance as of May 1st and I was up $460 for the month of April…my goal is $3K, and even worse, I made $1450 in bonuses, meaning I dropped almost exactly $1K at the tables.
What’s even worse is I barely made anything over at Party while knocking off 2 $100 bonuses this week, making $25 after the bonuses were credited. So, with that out of the way, I continued on at Full Contact, and promptly lost $400 the past 2 days, boom, boom, boom. Last night, I lost to 3 straights in my first 15 minutes, down almost $200 before my chair was warm. At least a couple were runner/runner, just for that extra kick in the shin.
You know, a few months ago, I made $10K in a single month. Luckily for me, some of that balance was still in our savings so we did not have to set aside our strategy of investing and paying extra on the mortgage with all of Pat’s income.
My parents are San Diego area homeowners, and will be moving out there sometime after July 4th. On my mom’s spring break, they went out and looked at a few, and they bought a condo in Rancho Bernardo.
I have received a couple e-mails asking me this, thanks for keeping me in mind.:)
So, does it bother you that in the Duke lacrosse case, they use the term “stripper” in a negative way?
I must admit, it was mighty tough when I told the parental units that I had been stripping. I’m far from ashamed of it, but not proud either. I got into it to make cash, as I had seen how much my friend Missy had made (granted, she had assets of a different nature than myself). Over my “career”, some things that had once seemed wrong grew to seem fuzzy and questionable. Did I accept extra cash to allow an “extra” or two? Yep, and in the case of one of my “regulars”, an older man who was usually in a wheelchair, I took the cash weekly and broke the rules weekly.
The only thing that irritates me is the way the media lumps in strippers with prostitutes, as if they are one and the same. Other than that, people will think what they want to think. The problem is, many strippers do use drugs, and some do more than strip. Just like some massage therapists do more than massage, and it pisses off true therapists to no end. Needless to say, I never did private parties, just like I never drink and drive, or other things which often turn out badly.
So over the time I’ve had this blog, many people have voiced the opinion that I have not had as much success as I have claimed. Of course, I am not out to impress strangers, so, whatever. But, the following should make some of them happy:
Even with bonuses, I am barely up this month. Nearly on a daily basis, I sit down and expect this to be the day I break out of the slump, and most days, I end up down. I haven’t had a “big win” for weeks, and as those who play for a living or as a serious hobby know, those big days are where the profits are made. Tonight, in one of the first few hands, my KK flopped a set, which I lost to AA, who also flopped a set. A while later, I hit my A high flush on the river on an unpaired board, and lost; as I had not put my opponent on a 7s/6s, straight-flush. After those two money flushers, I’ve fought my way back to nearly even, so I think I’ll call it a night
