How can I get SSD also know as Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits?

SSDI pays benefits to people that the Social Security Administration finds disabled.

Who qualifies for SSD?

  • SSDI is available to people with either severe physical and/or mental impairments to the extent that these impairments would prevent them from engaging in any kind of work. The disability must be expected to last for at least 12 months or longer.

How to qualify for SSD?

  • SSDI is an earned benefit. SSDI are for those individuals with a strong work history. You qualify by working and paying Social Security taxes. How long you must have worked to be eligible varies based on your age when you become disabled.

  • SSDI dates back to 1956, when Social Security’s rules were amended to permit benefit payments to disabled workers.
