The 31-year-old World Cup-winning captain has seen specialists and is scheduled to see another on Tuesday, a South African Rugby Union insider told AFP. If surgery is suggested and Siya agrees, the insider predicted that Siya would not be allowed to play once more this season.
The alternative is to wait for the injury to heal, which might take up to four months, making him unavailable until September. He would be unable to play in the Rugby Championship games against Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina as a result. This year, due to the World Cup, there is just one round of the competition.
Additionally, it would preclude Kolisi from playing exhibition games against Argentina, Wales, and New Zealand before the September 8 start of the 20-nation world championship in Paris.
South Africa Encounters
Rugby matches between South Africa and Argentina have a long history with more South Africa winning matches’ record. These two teams first met in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1993. That game was won 52–23 by South Africa. Since then, they have frequently faced off, especially during the Rugby Championship.
Against Argentina, South Africa has generally been the team in control. However, in the games that the Springboks and All Blacks have encountered against each other, New Zealand has won 60 games, South Africa has won 36 games, and 6 games have ended in a draw. Rugby fans are eagerly awaiting the matchup between these two sides because they are among the best in the world.
In most of them comes across, the Springboks also outperform Wales. On September 10, Scotland will be the Springboks’ first opponent in their Rugby World Cup defence in Marseille. They will also play Ireland, Romania, and Tonga in Group B.
The flanker had to leave the match early in the first half in Durban, according to South African media reports, because of a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL). Kolisi played in his final home game wearing the Sharks’ colours; following the Rugby World Cup, he’ll represent French Top 14 club Racing 92.
Rachel Kolisi stated
The vice-captain of the Springboks is flyhalf Handre Pollard, and centre Lukhanyo Am may take Kolisi’s spot in the lineup. Kolisi’s wife requested prayer for her family in an Instagram post, but she made no mention of the knee problem.
“Hello, buddies! expecting a miracle. Would much appreciate it if you could join us in prayer for one minute during the course of your day, wrote Rachel Kolisi.”
When Kolisi led the team in green and gold versus England in 2018 and won the Rugby World Cup as captain the following year, he was named the first black leader of the Springboks, a side that had only ever had white players for decades.
Roff will take over as RA president
Joe Roff, a former Wallabies star, will take over as Rugby Australia President from David Codey, breaking with precedent.
Before now, either New South Wales or Queensland have been the home of Rugby Australia’s president. Roff, however, a legendary Brumbies player and a Victoria native, is slated to take office as the country’s next leader.
The defending champion of the Rugby World Cup, who holds an Oxford master’s degree and serves as CEO of the John James Foundation, will be revealed on Wednesday at Rugby Australia’s Annual General Meeting.
A female president for Rugby Australia is also being considered to better represent the women’s game. Daniel Herbert and Brett Godfrey, who serves on the Rugby Australia board, will remain in their positions.
The RA board has been working on its private equity proposal for the better part of two years, and it is finally up for sale. To boost the game on all fronts, the organisation that governs will sell up to 19.5% of its commercial arm. It is known that they aim to make up to $250 million.

Overview
Scotland’s Rugby World Cup campaign could not have gotten started to a more difficult start; a demanding contest in Marseille against the reigning title holder South Africa will push the Scottish team to the absolute limit.
But can they avoid frustration? However, the Springboks will try to start their Rugby World Cup season on a winning note.
The entire head-to-head record has been dominated by South Africa, who has won 22 of the 29 games. These games typically end with a 27–12 South African victory. Scotland has managed to defeat South Africa in some notable matches despite their overall record being dominated by them. One of the most prominent of these occurred during the dramatic quarterfinal match between Scotland and South Africa at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which ended 34-32 in favour of Scotland.
Fiji’s financial woes revealed
In their 2022 annual report, the Fiji Rugby Union revealed a loss of $1.3 million (A867,000). The Fiji Union attributed the loss to the lack of programme sponsors, declines in domestic competitiveness brought on by fewer sponsors, and under-collection of budgeted funds.
FRU generated a profit of $269,554 ($A180,000) in 2021. In his report, Sale Sorovaki, the acting chief executive of the FRU, stated that Rugby House will face significant financial difficulties in 2022.
“Although our borders had opened and commerce had started to enhance our financial support rates had not yet returned to their pre-COVID-19 stages, and despite our best attempts to find other funding, many of our squads needed large sponsors,” he remarked.
“The key projects that lacked sponsors were the Fijiana Drua, the Fijiana XVs for the Rugby World Cup 2021 and tit’s test matches, and the Flying Fijians. These teams were mindful of the costs but were nonetheless required to participate by Rugby World Rugby due to contractual obligations. Participation always came with the knowledge that it would cost money.
A risky financial transaction
According to reports, England hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie skipped his medical because of a drinking session, which could put an end to his lucrative move to Montpellier. According to rumours, Philippe Saint-Andre, the head trainer, and the club administration are planning to veto the agreement and have been deliberating their response.
It’s possible that Cowan-Dickie and his solicitors will try to have any such move by the Top 14 winners legally contested. When the Lions star underwent ankle surgery in January, there were already concerns that his transfer from Exeter would be at risk. Since then, he has been sidelined from play.
