Should Atheism Be Defended?
When I was rising up in Ohio in the 50’s,Visitor Publishing I could recall going to school as an initial grader and listening to my teacher read a Bible story each morning. I understand for certain that my first, next, next and fourth rank educators read Bible experiences each morning. We also recited the Lord’s prayer included in our opening exercises. I could recall Thanksgiving programs, Christmas applications, and Easter programs all having Christian themes. I recall as a high school scholar in early 60’s my English instructor studying from the Bible as part of the class. I became a instructor myself in 1969, and I also had the students recite the Lord’s prayer in the starting exercises. The United Claims Supreme Court decided that to have prayer in the class was a violation of the separation of church and state. And ever since then, points have gotten extremely worse. Nowadays, in 1993, it’s apparent that the humanists are identified to remove all proof Religious prices and exercise in equally public education and government. Each time a new strike is made on the church by the humanists, I question, “Wherever would be the Christians?”
I remember when I was a young child one never heard profanity on television. Nudity on tv was simply unheard of. The tv applications in the 50’s and early 60’s were wholesome. Programs like “Keep It To Beaver,” “Ozzie & Harriet,” and “Mr. Ed” were the norm. Now you should not switch on the tv screen without being subjected to profanity of the grossest character and nudity is commonplace. Additional martial affairs are endorsed every day on the “soaps.” Violence of each and every sort is exhibited evening after evening on almost every channel. The speak reveals which are on every morning exploit the most strange matters, all in the title of teaching the public. Again, as I set in my loved ones space and flip through the channels with my handheld remote control trying to find something good to view I question, “Wherever will be the Christians?”
When I was a teenager and realized what gay meant, it was anything that has been scorned as a perverted life style. I could recall how people would speak about numerous celebrities that were noted to be homosexual, and how bad it absolutely was that a person that was appeared around by therefore many might live like that. I did not professionally know anyone who had been homosexual. Today it appears that homosexuality is not merely freely recognized by the “establishment,” this indicates as if it’s being endorsed daily. Again I question, “Where are the Christians?”
