Short Information About Links
What is mean by Link?
A link (short for hyperlink) is an HTML object that allows you to jump to a new location when you click or tap it. Links are found on almost every webpage and provide a simple means of navigating between pages on the web.
Links can be attached to text, images, or other HTML elements. Most text links are blue since that is the standard color web browsers use to display links. However, links can be any color since the style of the link text may be customized using HTML or CSS styles. In the early days of the web, links were underlined by default. Today, underlining links is less common.
What is an External Link?
External links point from one domain to an entirely separate domain. They may be links from your website to another website to provide additional information for readers, or they may be links from your website to an affiliate program. Links from other sites into yours can also be called external links, although the preferred term is “inbound” links, to distinguish them from links you’ve added to your own site that connect to other sites.
Example: External = links that point to a separate domain
External links may help readers more than you.
Links that point to someone else’s site are a great benefit for your readers, but add little in terms of strategic SEO value. These links may connect readers to resources such as products or information you deem valuable. But keep in mind that, in that case, the SEO benefits accrue for the website you link to, not your own.
What is an internal link?
An internal link is a URL link that you place on your website to point to another webpage of yours. An internal link is not to be confused with an external link, which is a link on your website that points to another website.
Example: Internal = links that point to content within the same domain
What is an inbound link?
An inbound link is when a website inserts a link on their website pointing to another website.
An inbound link is also sometimes referred to as an external link or backlink.
For example, if you have a Facebook Page and have placed your website address in the About Us section, that is considered an inbound link.
Inbound links are helpful to your website because they have:
-
A huge SEO impact
-
Drive more traffic
-

What is an Outbound link?
An outbound link also called an external link, is a link from your website to a different website. The best way to keep people from leaving your site via outbound links is by opening them in a new browser window. Outbound links should always be tagged as nofollow so you don’t dilute the equity of your page.
