Sharing the insights, concepts and knowledge of chemistry
Chemistry is a field of natural science that studies the qualities of substances, as well as the changes they go through and the natural laws that govern these changes.
Chemistry fundamentals
Chemistry is a logical discipline that necessitates conceptual knowledge. To succeed in this topic, you must be familiar with the periodic table, unit conversions, and measuring.
Did you realize that everything we see and utilize in our everyday lives is made up of chemical elements?
Every chemical element is made up of a single atom combined differently, and each chemical is unique. At the subatomic level, each atom includes neutrons, electrons, and protons. Each element’s number of protons is distinct and can be used to identify it. You may also recognize substances by their periodic table symbols, such as “O” for oxygen. The periodic table lists all of the elements that have been discovered so far by scientists.
When chemical elements come together, they produce chemical compounds. As a result, compounds made up of several elements or numerous atoms of a single element are formed. Water (H2O) is made up of various components such as hydrogen and oxygen, whereas oxygen (O2) is made up of two solitary oxygen atoms bound together.
It can be found anywhere
Chemicals are all around us and in everything we do. One or more chemicals can be found in anything you can touch, smell, or see.
It’s the season of discovery
Chemists both discover and create novel substances that have never been seen before. Chemists are scientists who investigate the characteristics of natural and synthetic substances. This data is used to figure out how to improve the utility of certain compounds by modifying them, as well as the ways of doing so.
It is both qualitative and quantitative
The study of chemistry covers a wide spectrum of topics, from qualitative to quantitative. For example, a qualitative chemist could focus on developing a new substance for use in medicine, but a quantitative chemist’s work may resemble physics applied to the tiny level of atoms and molecules.
It’s everywhere
Chemists study the natural world while also striving to improve it through molecular manipulation. Chemistry is one of the underpinnings of contemporary industrial economies since everything is a chemical.
It makes the world a better place
Chemical advancements have resulted in significant benefits for our planet. New medications that heal sickness, new materials that make us safer and stronger, and new sources of energy that permit new activities are all examples of improvements.
Organic and inorganic chemistry
We may break chemistry into more digestible areas to help us more accurately because it is such an extensive science. Organic and inorganic chemistry, for example, divides all matter into two divisions of study. The study of the carbon compounds that make up living organisms is known as organic chemistry. Everything else is studied in inorganic chemistry.
Biochemistry
Biochemistry is the study of the chemical reactions that occur in living substances such as DNA, proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids.
Analytical Chemistry
Analytical chemistry is the study of substances, their characteristics, and how they react. It also entails the creation of tools and procedures for conducting this research. Analytical chemistry is used by chemists in many fields, although some specialize in the creation of analytical procedures.
Physical Chemistry: the study of matter
Physical chemistry, or the physics of chemical compounds, is the study of the physical principles that underpin atoms and compounds. Physical chemists study the motion of particles, the role of energy in reactions, the rate at which reactions occur, and the interaction of light and energy with matter.
Chemistry major areas of study include organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, as well as biochemistry. There’s a lot of overlap here. An organic chemist, for example, could be interested in the rate of an organic compound’s reaction, which requires physical chemistry. An inorganic chemist, for example, could require an analytical method to analyze the crystal structure of a substance.
Over the last 12 years, Miracle Learning Centre has established a huge reputation as the best chemistry tuition in Singapore with over 1000+ parents and students.
We specialize in providing chemistry tuition for A-level and O-level students, as well as JC Chemistry, H2 Chemistry, IP Chemistry, and Crash Courses.
We created small groups for chemistry lessons to help students get an in-depth understanding of the topics they are studying, fill in the gaps, and focus on their knowledge shortcomings.
Our teachers can also aid students in their test preparation by requiring them to practice and revise exam procedures and ways of answering questions.
Students will acquire cutting-edge approaches and procedures for answering questions on a variety of themes, which will aid them in passing their A-Level and O-Level Chemistry exams. Students are also instructed to do independent research on many elements of the chemistry syllabus to deepen and expand their knowledge.
