Save Time, Money and Cells with a Live Cell Imaging System
Scientists ongoing need for both efficient and affordable research tools is what first inspired the development of the PHI HoloMonitor®, a technology that allows cell biologists to non-invasively study cells while they are being cultured inside the incubator.
There are many imaging systems available but what sets theHoloMonitor® apart is the possibility of real-time, label-free and quantitative studies of adherent cells directly in the cell incubator. Compared to standard methods, this approach saves both time, money and valuable cells for further experiments.
Standard cell culture methods require the use of many instruments, from plate readers to microscopes. Cell culture experimentsneed multiple setups and consumables with indirect readouts. PHI HoloMonitor®offers easy and straight-forward set up, without the need for these expensive consumables. The results, specific to each application, are automatically presented in real-time. In addition, images and time-lapse data are stored for later extraction of further parameters.
The HoloMonitor® is equipped with a digital image sensor, low power diodeillumination and sophisticated computer algorithms. This label-free, single-cell level imaging solution, quantifies living cells bymeasuring the change of direction of light when passing through unstained cells. Since there is no energy exchange, the cellsremain completely unaffected. This allows imaging, quantification and monitoring both single and populations of cells in their incubator environment, without the bias introducedby the harshness and toxicity of flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy.
