The ugly injury sustained by Stormers star Evan Roos will raise concerns among Springboks coaches in the RWC context. There will be an incredible sense of anticipation when the Springboks announce their roster for the Rugby World Cup 2023, taking place from 8 September to 28 October in France.

Evan Roos
Before the Stormers-Ulster clash last weekend, understandably, there was a lot of talk about a clash between Duane Vermeulen and Evan Roos. Unfortunately, the young Stormers star was forced off the field in the 23rd minute due to a serious knee injury sustained just after he recently returned to action.
If the scan reveals it’s an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Roos could be out of action for six to nine months, which would of course have a major impact on his ambition to win a place on the Springboks team at the Rugby World Cup. On the other hand, if it turns out to be a medial ligament injury, it may not keep Roos for such a long period.
Just a couple of months ago, it was already interesting to watch the Springboks decide to rest Duane Vermeulen on the year-end tour in 2022, while Jasper Wiese was decisively contending for the No. 8 jersey in his absence.
However, with all his experience, Vermeulen won’t be left out and it’s almost impossible to see him overlooked in the Rugby World Cup despite a year of battling injuries and some indifferent form. For more about knowing South Africa Rugby World Cup Tickets.
Wiese is likely the eighth player in his current form, while Quagga Smith can also offer emergency support in that position, making it quite difficult for Roos to guarantee his participation in the Rugby World Cup. It remains to be seen how long Roos can stay on the sidelines, and whether that could open the door for someone like Elrig Lowe or Marcella Coetzi to play in the RWC 2023 qualifier.
Canan Moodie
The talented Bulls guard made his debut in a dream game against Australia last September when Moody scored a stunning goal that fully confirmed his choice at the age of just 19. Until the end of the year, Moody played in three more matches with South. Interestingly, Africa won all of them (twice against Argentina and England in the final match of the year).
The real problem for Moody is that there will be limited places for outside defenders when it comes to the South Africa rugby world cup team, although the real plus in his favor is his versatility and ability to play as a defender or winger.
Cheslin Kolbe, Damian Willemse, Macazol Mapimpi, Willy le Roux and Kurt-Lee Arendse are really good outside coverage of Springbox, which is why it will be a real challenge for Moody to earn the coveted World Championship selection.
In fact, it could all come down to a challenge between the youth and exuberance of Moodie and the experience and skills of Frans Steyn. All in all, Moody will hope to continue to make a huge impression with the Bulls to ensure he can qualify for a continued Springboks selection.
This is our early Prediction for the Sprigboks’ possible Rugby World Cup Squad:

RWC 2023 – Ireland Hooker Suffers Injury
Ulster prostitute Tom Stewart joined Ireland in Quinta da Lago to provide extra cover following a hamstring problem found by Ronan Kelleher. In the coming days, Kelleher will be under medical observation in Ireland. Unclosed Stewart is a former Ireland Under-20 international who played twice for developing Ireland last year, starting with victories over the Griquas and Cheetahs.
The Ireland coaching team also included him in preparation for Ireland’s A game against the All Blacks XV in November. The addition of Stewart brings the number of tourists from developing Ireland in the senior team to five – Jack Crowley, Joe McCarthy, Jamie Osborne and Cyan Prendergast.
The team will continue to train on campus in Quinta da Lago before flying to Cardiff on Thursday ahead of the first round of the 2023 Six Nations Championship. For more about knowing Ireland Rugby World Cup Tickets.
