This sizable Human Skulls For Sale has bold features, which give it a very \'demanding\' presence. A very unique feature of this specimen is that it has Eagle Syndrome (also referred to as stylohyoid syndrome). This rare condition is characterized by the unusual elongation of the styloid process. Both styloid processes are present on this specimen, with the left being longer than the right. Almost all of the dentition is present, with only a few teeth missing ante-mortem. The calvarium is cut and secured with pins and hooks, while the mandible is articulated on springs. This enthralling, high-grade medical specimen is quite large, and very heavy. It has many wonderful features, and a beautiful overall appearance. It would make a remarkable display piece in any collection, and would be perfect for anatomical study and reference.
Museum Of Real Human Skulls. These skulls typically come from private collectors, medical professionals, and institutions. The ancient Peruvians of the Paracas culture, in what is now the Ica region of Peru, were known for practicing cranial modification. It is believed that this was done to denote the higher-status of an individual, or perhaps due to pseudoscientific beliefs that it would provide some form of psychic ability, and further potential brain function. In order to achieve an elongated skull, they would bind an infant\'s head for several months, or even years, and force the skull to grow into this desired shape.
This Peruvian elongated skull is 2000-3000 years old (dating to 800-100BC), and in exceptional condition. There are a few cracks in the top of the skull, and a very small piece of bone missing. Peruvian elongated skulls are extraordinarily rare, especially in this outstanding condition, and are scarcely available for purchase. This exquisite specimen would truly be the crowning jewel of any collection. This piece was featured in the book "Skulls: Portraits of the Dead", and comes with provenance. The display stand shown in the photos, as well as a copy of the book, is included.
