Properties & Application Of SS 310s Tubes
Medium carbon austenitic stainless steel in Grade 310 is used for high-temperature applications like furnace parts and heat treatment machinery. It can withstand continuous temperatures of 1150 °C and intermittent temperatures of 1035 °C. A reduced carbon version of grade 310 is grade 310S.
Application Of SS 310S Tubes
Common Applications The internal parts of coal gasifiers, fluidized bed combustors, kilns, radiant tubes, tube hangers for steam boilers and oil refineries, lead pots, thermowells, refractory anchor bolts, burners, combustion chambers, retorts, muffles, annealing covers, saggers, food processing equipment, and cryogenic structures are all examples of applications for SS 310S tubes.
Properties of SS 310S Tubes
These grades are very resistant to oxidation and corrosion because they contain 25% chromium and 20% nickel. A version with less carbon, Grade 310S is less prone to embrittlement and sensitization in use. These steels can be used in decreasing sulfur atmospheres with H2S due to their high chromium and medium nickel content. They are frequently utilized in mildly carburizing conditions, such as those seen in petrochemical settings. Other heat-resisting alloys should be chosen for more intense carburizing environments. Since SS 310S Tubes experience thermal shock, it is not advised to often quench liquids with this grade. Due to its durability and low magnetic permeability, the grade is frequently employed in cryogenic applications.
