Pro basketball’s Sono returns after 4 seasons with Onuaku – $600 million annual salary
Signing and releasing 1Option Jones
Likely to start against KCC on the 17th
Professional basketball team Goyang Sono has pulled out the 1-option foreign player replacement card. Chinanu Onuaku, who once boasted of his height as a perimeter DB, joins the team.
The Sono team announced on the 13th, “We have released 1-option foreign player Jarrod Jones and signed defensive big man Onuaku as a replacement.”
Onuaku, who played DB in the 2019-2020 season, returns to the KBL after four seasons.
A graduate of the University of Louisville in the United States, he was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 37th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
He appeared in 40 regular-season games for DB in 2019-2020, averaging 14.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocked shots per game.
His length and athleticism at 206 centimeters make him a strong post player. He signed for the same salary as Jones, $460,000 ($68 million).
“We have a lot of difficulties in rebounding, and Onuaku will definitely help us overcome that,” said a Sono official. “We expect synergistic effects, such as getting a lot of chances from the perimeter if we dominate under the basket through active post play.”
Onuaku is expected to start playing on the road against Busan KCC on the 17th. 슬롯
