The self-described "world\'s best bet" poker player failed to repay his money on Sunday night when he made more than $1 million in the Super Bowl.
Sean Perry, 27, bet big on the San Francisco 49ers, bet $1.1 million on -1.5, and the money would have returned $2.1 million for a $1 million profit. But the Kansas City Chiefs had other ideas.
As a poker player, Perry enjoyed multiple six-figure caches in high roller races and grossed more than $6.8 million, according to the Hendon Mob Database.
Recently, he reinvented himself as a sports bettor and handicapper. When it comes to betting, he claims, "it\'s eight digits in a lifetime."
Perry posted an image of his circa sportsbook betting ticket to his X followers earlier on Sunday but did not name the team he supported. He left it to do so until after kick-off.
‘I\'ll come again.
To be fair to Perry, most of the game seemed like a smart bet, especially since the line closed at -2 and the Niners won 10-0 in the second quarter. But the Chiefs stunned their opponents in overtime, clinching their third Super Bowl title in five years with a thrilling 25-22 victory.
In a video posted to X late on Sunday, Perry appeared moved by his followers\' concerns about his well-being after he lost a fortune. But the professional gambler reminded them that they could never bet money they could never lose.
"Guys, I promise you I\'ll be fine," Perry said, "and I\'m always used to putting millions into the game, and I know I\'ll be back tomorrow... And by the end of the year, I will continue to grind." This month ... I\'ve gone up over four million dollars.
"So, yeah, it\'s annoying to lose a million dollars a day, but it happens. It\'s part of the gamble. I\'m not going to tell you that every bet will win because it doesn\'t exist. In the long run, we\'ll get there. As long as we keep winning the finish line, that\'s all that matters."
Circa Survivor
Perry was one of the finalists for the Circa Survivor sports betting contest, which challenges gamblers to select one NFL consecutive winner each week. It selects each team only once.
When the field was reduced from 9,267 contestants to 13, he refused to cut his $9.2 million first prize. 슬롯사이트 추천
"In every way, I\'m the best bet in the world. I can never cut it. I wish you all the best. I\'ll see you at the finish line," said Perry.
He was eliminated in fifth place.
