Pistol Magazines for Sale? Here are Two Tips to Extend the Life of Your Handgun Magazines
If your handgun’s not feeding properly or reliably, there are two tips we’d like to offer for you that you can fall back on before you go looking for pistol magazines for sale. Consider these first, then get looking for some replacements if you still can’t fix the issue.
Clean the Mag and Replace the Internal Spring(s)
First off, we have to offer a word or two on the importance of good maintenance. Just like any other component of a firearm, your pistol’s magazine is going to experience an accumulation of fouling and debris. Like a barrel or a trigger assembly, they need to be cleaned from time to time. They might not require as much, but gun magazines still need to be cleaned and serviced.
Over a while, your pistol’s going to experience a buildup of fouling and debris. In between trips to the range, all you need to do is clean off the outside of the mag and clean off the follower to make sure there isn’t so much debris that it causes corrosion or gums up the works.
For example, if your magazines are exceptionally dirty, you should wipe any fouling off of the outside with a damp rag or cloth; stubborn fouling or debris can be coaxed off via the help of a stiff nylon or brass brush and some solvent.
If it’s been a while since you gave your magazine a deep clean, take the magazine apart and remove the internal spring or springs and follower. Clean off the inside of the magazine in addition to the outside of the mag, and scrub the springs clean as well. Soak them in a solvent if need be.
Now, here’s an important note. If your magazine is not feeding properly, while it could be a result of excessive fouling, it’s more than likely due to fatiguing of the internal springs. Typically, you can replace these internal springs and completely restore the functionality of a flagging magazine.
However, springs are often magazine-specific, and it can be hard to find esoteric parts like these. Visit SARCO Inc., online at SarcoInc.com to find suitable replacement gun magazine springs.
Inspect and Replace the Follower
Now, while you’re cleaning your handgun’s magazine, take a good look at the follower. If it’s cracked or poorly seated, it needs to be adjusted. A broken or poorly adjusted magazine follower will disable a magazine entirely or will slow feeding. It’s also possible that a magazine will feed a few reliably, then cause a jam.
While you may be able to replace the magazine follower directly, it may be more economical simply to get a new magazine; not to mention the fact that it’s difficult to find magazine followers and can be cost-prohibitive just to buy the part.

Now, if the case is that your magazine is dented, bent, won’t seat properly in the firearm, or has damaged feed lips, it’s unlikely that you can repair the magazine by replacing parts. Issues like that need to be solved by replacing the magazine entirely.
It’s also possible that you’re simply looking for spare pistol magazines for sale to bring to the range so you can spend more time shooting and less time loading. Whatever the case, if you need a new couple of pistol magazines, visit SARCO Inc at SarcoInc.com.
