A spokesperson for Paradise Inc. said in an email that "the fire has had little impact on casino operations and will not be able to suspend them."

The resort, which includes a casino (file photo), was forced to evacuate for some time due to Sunday\'s fire, according to local media reports.

Earlier, the Korea Times newspaper quoted the Incheon Fire Department as saying that no casualties were reported due to the fire and subsequent evacuations.

"The damage caused by the fire is about 88 million won, about $80,000," said a Paradise spokesman.

The Korea Times said that a fire broke out at a women\'s sauna on the third floor of Paradise City on Sunday afternoon. There were more than 280 visitors at the resort at the time and they were moved to safety. The fire brigade sent 38 fire trucks and more than 200 firefighters to put out the fire. They put out the fire in 40 minutes and guests were able to re-enter Paradise City Hotel early Sunday evening.

The Korea Times says the fire brigade is investigating the cause of the fire.

Paradise City opened in April 2017. According to Korean law, casinos are open only to foreigners, but non-game facilities are open to everyone.

Proponents of the plan positively evaluated the project\'s proximity to Incheon Airport, South Korea\'s main air passenger gateway and major regional transportation hub.

Casino Resort is a venture of Paradise Sega Sammy Inc., a joint venture between Paradise and Japanese entertainment giant Sega Sammy Holdings. Paradise said in its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2018, Paradise Sega Sammy\'s net loss in the fourth quarter widened to 42.46 billion won from 3.1 billion won a year earlier.

Wonderbox, the casino resort\'s new non-gaming facility, will open on Sunday. Wonderbox describes the resort as an "indoor family amusement park" themed with "night fairs."

The new attractions are said to include carnival-style games and several rides, including bungee drops, Ferris wheels, carousels and \'mega mix\' branded circular rides.
