National Education Day Celebrated at AAFT
New Delhi: National Education Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He was a key educationist who played an important role in developing the education system in independent India.
“Education is more than just learning how to read and write. It’s about gaining the knowledge and the skills needed to better ourselves and the world we live in.
Education helps us grow personally, professionally, and socially. It also helps us become better versions of human being. it broadens our perspectives to help us learn about different societies and cultures. Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace. Education is the key that unlocks the golden door to freedom,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University while talking to the students and faculty at AAFT.
“Enriching our brains with new and valuable information improves our ability to think, analyse, and process the world around us. Education is important because it broadens our knowledge, and this knowledge then opens our minds to new perspectives, ideas, beliefs, and cultures,” added Dr. Marwah motivating the students.
Some of the important boards/commission set up by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad during his tenure are University Grants commission, All India council for Technical education, Kharagpur Institute of higher education, The University education commission, The Secondary education commission. He also contributed to the establishment of educational institutes like Jamia Millia Islamia and IIT Kharagpur.
