Melasma is caused due to the hormonal changes that an undergoes during pregnancy which may raise melanin production in your body. Melanin is a substance that body naturally produced by the body and gives colour to hair, skin and eyes.
Sun exposure will play a major role in the production of melanin in the body. And also women with darker skin tones are most likely to have melasma than fair skin tones.
How can a pregnant woman prevent melasma from getting worse?
All the skin pigmentation caused by melasma will soon disappear after the delivery. but you can also do some precautions to minimize the spots during pregnancy
Do you still have melasma after delivery?
->melasma mostly disappears without any kind of clinical treatment after giving birth to your baby. But it takes around 8 to 12 months to completely fade away.
