“Medical completed”, leaves Man Utd after all
His farewell to Manchester United is just around the corner.
“After completing a medical in Frankfurt, Donny van der Beek, 26, has effectively confirmed a loan move,” British outlet CutOffside reported on Monday (April 21).
Van der Beek joined United from Ajax in 2020. The Red Devils spent €39 million on van der Vaal, identifying him as a key part of their midfield rebuild.
The signing was a disappointment, as van der Wiel struggled to adapt to United. His first season was a disappointing one, with just one goal and two assists in all competitions.
Last season, he didn’t show any signs of resurgence either. Despite being reunited with coach Erik ten Haag, with whom he had a priestly connection at Ajax, he suffered another knee injury that derailed his comeback.
This season has been even worse. He has been invisible in all competitions, making just two appearances. In terms of playing time, he only managed 21 minutes.
It’s time to say goodbye to United. “I want to play again, and if that’s not possible at United, I’ll go to another club,” van der Beek said in a recent interview.
Frankfurt has emerged as a possible next destination. “Van der Vaart has reached an agreement with Frankfurt,” transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on April 16, with the words “Here we go” indicating that the move was imminent.
The transfer process moved quickly. According 먹튀검증 to the report, Frankfurt were able to secure a loan deal for van der Vaart with United paying 40-50% of his weekly wages.
The details of the deal were also revealed. “The loan agreement between van der Vaart and Frankfurt includes a buyout clause of no more than €10 million,” said Florian Platenberg of Sky Sports Germany. It is not an obligation.”
The loan transfer remains subject to official confirmation. United and Frankfurt are in the process of exchanging finalized contracts. An official announcement is expected as soon as the transfer window opens on January 1.
