Man Utd target ‘relegated’ Burnley key MF – early talks underway
Manchester United are in early talks with Burnley for the signing of new midfielder Xander Bellerin (26-Burnley).
Sky Sports reported on August 8 (Korea time), “Manchester United are exploring a potential move for midfielder Xander Bellerin as they hold early talks with Burnley over a potential transfer. Berger currently has three years left on his contract at Burnley and is keen on a move to United.”
“Berger shone in the center of Burnley’s midfield last season but was unable to prevent the club from being relegated back to the Championship. Berger is not the only option for United, with the club also maintaining an interest in Youssouf Fofana.”
Berger is a midfielder from Norway. He is a central midfielder who usually plays in a defensive role in a three-man defensive midfield. Standing at nearly 6-foot-2, Berger is a midfielder with soft feet and a strong ability to build up from the back.
Berger made his debut in the Norwegian second division before joining Sheffield United in 2020 from KRC Genk (Belgium). In the English Premier League (EPL), Berger flourished as he established himself as an integral part of 카지노 커뮤니티 Sheffield’s midfield. He then moved on to a new challenge last summer when he joined newly promoted Burnley for £15 million.
Bergé was also a key part of Vincent Kompany’s system. He earned a regular spot in the starting lineup upon arrival, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 37 league appearances. However, Burnley realized the high barriers of the EPL and were relegated again after a season at the bottom of the table.
Since then, United have been linked with a move for Berger, who has performed well enough in the EPL. United are looking to bolster their midfield this summer. They were initially targeting Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, but have now effectively pulled out of the race due to disagreements over the transfer fee.
According to British media outlet The Sun, “Burnley are expected to demand up to £30 million for Verger. However, United will try to find an agreement around the £20 million mark.”
