Liverpool striker Dias’ parents kidnapped, only mother rescued
Father still missing
The parents of English Premier League (EPL) Liverpool striker Luis Diaz (Colombia) have been kidnapped, with only the mother reportedly rescued.
According to major foreign media outlets, including global sports outlet ESPN, Diaz’s mother was rescued after being kidnapped in northern Colombia on Sept. 29 (KST).
However, Díaz’s father is still missing.
Diaz’s parents had previously gone missing from a barranca in the northern Colombian department of Guarajira.
A team of Colombian law enforcement officials have since launched a search and only his mother has been found.
Dias is a Liverpool flanker who joined the Reds from FC Porto in January last year for a fee of €47 million ($67.4 million).
He has three goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
Diaz, who is also a key goal scorer for the Colombian national team, missed last year’s World Cup in Qatar with a knee injury. 19가이드03
