AMD launched its first Ryzen mobile processors in late 2017. However, we have only seen a few laptops with the chips. There could be more soon.
A Leaked Product Roadmap for Lenovo’s ThinkPad business laptops indicates that at least two Ryzen-powered notebooks will be available in April.
The Lenovo ThinkPad E485 is a 14-inch notebook similar to the ThinkPad E480… but with a AMD processor.
The upcoming Lenovo ThinkPad E585 will be a AMD alternative to the Intel-powered 15.6inch Lenovo ThinkPad E580.
A leaked product slide shows that both have narrow bezels and USB Type-C ports. It’s not clear if this means the laptops are thinner than Intel models or just previous-generation laptops.
Lenovo currently offers the ThinkPad E480 as well as E580 at $630. The 13 inch model weighs 3.9 pounds and measures approximately 13 x 9 x 0.8\'’. The larger model, which measures 14.5 x 9.9 x 0.8\'’, is about 4.7 lbs and measures around 4.7 x 0.8 x 0.8.
Both can be ordered with either 768p or 1080p display options. They are also available with optional AMD Radeon RX550 graphics.
