The Korea Sports Council announced on the 22nd that it will operate a performance improvement support center for Korean athletes during the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games (Gangwon 2024).
The Performance Improvement Support Center, operated by the Korean Sports Council’s Pyeongchang Winter Training Center, focuses on training, meals, and duties to help athletes perform at their best.
During the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the Sports Council operated a performance improvement support center to help athletes by providing training and special meals.
In particular, in sledding sports such as bobsleigh and skeleton where weight management is important, intensive support such as providing 8 meals a day supported the first medal in history.
Pyeongchang Olympic skeleton gold medalist Yoon Seong-bin and bobsleigh silver medalist Won Yun-jong visited the Pyeongchang Winter Training Center on the 19th to encourage athletes preparing for Gangwon 2024.
They said, “The success of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics was possible thanks to the support of the support center,” and added, “We hope that the youth athletes will perform at their best in this competition as well with the support of the center.”
Lee Jong-seong, head of the Pyeongchang Winter Training Center, said, “Using the success story of the support center in 2018 as a stepping stone, we will help youth athletes in both material and spiritual ways to maximize their performance.” 토토사이트
