Kaabo Mantis 8 Electric Scooter Review
Kaabo is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intelligent transportation, with patents in over 24 countries. It brings together top developers and regularly releases iterative products.
The Mantis series pushes the state of electric scooters to a new level with speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour, endurance up to 80 kilometers, and power up to 1,000 watts.
Features
The Kaabo Mantis 8 is a perfect electric scooter for those who want to commute in comfort and ease. It features eight-inch tubeless tires that provide a smooth ride and stability.
A dual motor system gives the e-scooter immense acceleration and extra power to make it a joy to ride. With a top speed of 25mph, the Mantis is perfect for daily use and even for more advanced hill climbing.
It also features a Zoom brake system that’s operated via a cable for easy maintenance and setup, taking on the task of stopping 800 watts of raw power from the rear motor.
The Mantis 8’s braking system is robust and reliable, offering a great braking distance of 3.2 meters. The semi-hydraulic front and rear disc brakes allow you to stop with confidence, no matter the speed. Moreover, the Mantis 8 comes with three sets of lights to increase your visibility on the road for extra safety.
Design
The kaabo mantis 8 is an electric scooter that is built to be both comfortable and stable. It has a powerful motor that delivers a top speed of 25 mph and climbs hills with up to 30% inclines.
Its dual-motor system combines to produce 1600w of power, which makes it the ideal choice for both urban driving and adventurous trail rides. Its suspension dilutes the bumps for a smooth ride over uneven terrain, while the 10″ air tires improve handling and reduce rolling resistance.
In terms of design, the kaabo mantis 8 has a sleek and minimal look, without being too overpowering. The black paint is clean and uncluttered, and the red piping on the handlebars and suspension arms adds a hint of color.
The Mantis 8 has a rock-solid stem and fork that is welded together for strength and durability, and the entire scooter rides quietly and smoothly. There is only one slight alignment issue with the front brake caliper that affects brake feel, but this is easy to remedy.
Performance
Kaabo’s Mantis 8 is one of our favorite scooters, offering a super solid ride and comfortable acceleration. It comes standard with a QS-S4 trigger throttle and dual brake handles.
The Mantis 8 Pro offers all of the great features of the standard model, but with double the power and around the same range. With a whole motor worth more power for just 6 lbs more weight, it’s absolutely, resoundingly worth the upgrade!
The Mantis 8 Pro is a fast machine, reaching 15 mph in 2.4 seconds and 25 mph in 5.2 seconds. It’s not quite up to par with its more advanced rivals, but it will get you where you need to go faster than a lot of other performance scooters.
Safety
Despite its light weight, the Mantis 8 is extremely stable and safe to ride. The dual suspension absorbs all the bumps your city can throw at it, leaving you feeling relaxed and comfortable while riding.
It also has 120mm disc brakes and hybrid tires, which help to keep you secure when stopping. The brakes work by using a piston to push the pad outward against the rotating disc.
When you hit a curb or pothole, the brakes will slow down the scooter enough to prevent it from falling over and hitting you. This is a huge safety feature, as it could save your life!
However, we noticed one small problem with the Mantis 8. The front brake caliper is not aligned to the brake cable. This affects the feel and responsiveness of the brakes. It is possible to remedy this issue by zip-tying the caliper and brake cable together. This will improve the braking experience and response on the Kaabo Mantis 8.
