Jesus Had Me Concentrate on This While I Studied ACIM
As I studied ACIM, Jesus was having me focus on “pray, listen, and follow.” He’d tell me, “Rather than your analytics, I’ll guide you and let you know precisely what to express, what to do, and where you can go. I’ll handle all time and space if you gives your brain to me. I’ll handle all of the arrangements.”
This was mind-boggling to the ego! What do you mean, “handle all of the arrangements”? Think about airline tickets, transportation, food, and shelter? The focus on “pray, listen and follow,” the directions that Jesus gave me, became 100% trustworthy, 100% safe, and 100% time-saving.
A Parable with David
One of my ACIM students in the 1990s came up if you ask me to have a cup of tea at my kitchen table at the Peace House. a course in miracles online She sat down and said, “I’ve X sum of money, and it’s in the stock market right now. I’m praying and wondering what I will do with this money.”
We were having our cup of tea and I said, “You’re supposed to fully get free from the stock market right now.” I’m not really a stockbroker, I don’t really follow the stock market, but it really came through me, effortlessly, as a necessitate love.
And so she did. She returned and completely sold all her stocks. Right next, the stock market took a huge dive, a huge crash. Then she came ultimately back and said if you ask me, “Have you any idea the amount of money you saved me with everything you said?” And I said, “That wasn’t me! I don’t claim any responsibility for that advice and guidance. What did I say?”
I’m just into praying, listen, and following. I’m not contemplating giving people guidance and advice. Frances and I can let you know that through the years practicing ACIM and living together as a small grouping of people, there are always a lot of logistics which come up for consideration. The one thing that has carried many of us through is “pray, listen, and follow.” We have learned to be 0% analytical and 100% trust.
