Is Movement Allowed with Suspended Load In a High Capacity Telehandler?

Is Movement with Suspended Load Good for Onsite Operations?

The answer to this is NO! A suspended load means the high capacity telehandler stops at a height with the load lifted on the attachment. A suspended load is dangerous for everyone on the site. Moreover, if the operator moves with the lifted load, it is a threat to the life of workers as there is a high probability of fall accidents. The load or any part of the load can fall on any worker or employee if not operated properly. Therefore, it is restricted not to drive the telehandler with loads suspended on it.

Things to avoid when Suspended Load Exists on a High Capacity Telehandler:

The operator inside the cab can predict the situation of the suspended load. In this case, there are four things to ponder for safety:

Vacate the space near the Telehandler: The operator should immediately announce to vacate the space till the suspended load is not placed. Avoid any worker or pedestrian moving around the telehandler.

Stop any Movement: The cab operator should not drive or operate the high capacity telehandler. Keep it in a stationary position. 

Turn off the Ignition Immediately: Switch off the telehandler and remove the keys. If the case is serious, the operator should come out of the cab to inspect the matter.

Inspect the entire telehandler and situation: It is the operator whose duty is to check the entire telehandler complications, if any, and frame the plan to restart and place the suspended load in an accurate place without harming anyone.
