International Family Day Celebrated at World Peace Foundation
New Delhi: “Family is one of the most important, Taking time every day to appreciate your loved ones for all that they do helps us to reconnect as a family. Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life,” said Sandeep Marwah President of WPDRF-World Peace Development And Research Foundation in a small event online addressing the faculty members of AAFT University of Media And Arts.
“Founded by the United Nations in 1994, the International Day of Families is observed every May 15 to honour the importance of families.
“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them. Families—both traditional and non-traditional—are the foundation of society. Our most formative years are spent with our families and those people are likely the most important people in our lives, so they should be celebrated. Let’s spend time today finding ways to protect the family unit in society by starting at home with our own!,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah
According to the United Nations, the theme for the 2021 observance of the International Day of Families is “Socially just transition towards sustainable development: the role of digital technologies on social development and well-being of all.
The event was supported by ICMEI-International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and ICFF-International Children’s Film Forum.
