Common Problem for Moth
Carpet moths or various carpet beetles whose larvae are known as woolly bears. It is the larval stage of carpet insects that like to eat woolen rugs and carpets.
These insect pests live outdoors in bird nests and on dead animals, but they can enter property through windows or open doors, or they can enter under the eaves or through a chimney. Once inside, they can reproduce quickly with the female carpet moth laying hundreds of eggs in secluded, dark places, such as under cabinets or under heavy, unmovable furniture. Then the eggs hatch into larvae, which spin silk cocoons around themselves. These larvae resemble cedar grains and this stage of the carpet moth is the one that causes damage by gorging on carpets and rugs made of natural fibers such as wool. If you have seen a bird moth and find the larvae of this insect infestation, you should inspect every room on your property to measure the size of the infestation and then perform a complete pest control treatment.
