A qualification equivalent to an AQF Bachelor’s Degree or above with an ICT Major: 

If you have done a course with an ICT Major closely relevant to this occupation, fulfill the criteria:

You need to have relevant work experience of 4 years you earned anytime in your previous work history.

Qualification an equal to an AQF Bachelor’s Degree or higher with an ICT Minor: 

If your course with an ICT Minor closely related to the occupation, meet the requirements: 

Relevant working experience of 5 years you earned in the past 10 years; or 

Relevant work experience of 6 years you completed anytime in your previous work history 

If did a course with an ICT minor not relevant to the occupation, the application requirement is below: 

Relevant work experience of 6 years you completed anytime in your previous work history 

Qualification equivalent to a Vendor Certification or AQF Diploma 

If having done a course with an ICT major closely related to this ANZSCO occupation, satisfy the requirements: 

Either you need to have 5 years of relevant work experience completed within the past 10-year period; or 

Relevant work experience of 6 years you completed anytime in your previous work history 

If having completed a course with an ICT major not closely relevant to the occupation, the requirements are below: 

You need related work experience of 6 years you earned anytime in your previous work history for a successful assessment. 

The Australian Computer Society also accepts RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). 

If you have a non-ICT qualification equivalent to an AQF Diploma or higher, satisfy the below-given requirements: 

Related work experience of 6 years you completed anytime in your previous work history; and 

Recognition of Prior Learning application 

If you have no tertiary qualification but have work experience only, satisfy the below-given requirements: 

Relevant work experience of 8 years; and 

Recognition of Prior Learning Application 

Note: An RPL application requires the candidate to show how they earned their ICT knowledge. In addition, this report also requires the submission of 2 Project Reports with an RPL application. 

The below-given Vendor Certifications are acceptable as equivalent to AQF Diploma-level qualifications: 

  1. Microsoft Certifications 
  2. Cisco Certifications 

Australian qualifications with accreditation from the Australian Computer Society have high chances of satisfying the ICT Major Criteria. However, ACS may not necessarily assess them as being closely related to the chosen occupation. So, choosing the correct occupation is a must. 

The Australian Computer Society will only consider employment completed after you have met its Suitability Criteria as Skilled Employment. In other words, the assessment authority will not take pre-qualification employment experience into account.
